Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past
[powered by WordPress.]
While the departure of Grady Little was somewhat a surprise, the hiring of Joe Torre wasn’t and it looks like Torre has now agreed to manage the Dodgers. This is a guy who’s managed in six World Series and won four of them so this is pretty huge. I thought Grady Little did a nice job in his two years with the team including a playoff spot last year but any time you have a chance to get an elite manager like Torre, you have to go for it. Not that Little was fired, in fact we may never know why he stepped down. I wish Grady Little the best of luck in whatever he does and I was glad to see him wear Dodger blue.
It also looks like Don Mattingly, who was spurned by the Yankees in favor of Joe Girardi, will follow Torre to Los Angeles. So it looks like the Dodgers are going to have a top notch coaching staff to go along with a playoff contending roster.
