Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Yes, I haven’t posted much about Larry Bowa’s ejection and his reaction to it and the suspension/fine he received. It’s just another common case of a short-tempered coach who overreacted after violating what is a legitimately set rule. But, for entertainment, read this.
The fact that our starters had to come out to relieve the other night prompted Joe Torre to purchase the contract of RHP Chan Ho Park. He returns to the Dodgers after leaving in 2001, where he then bounced around teams with injuries and inconsistencies. Infielder Angel Chavez was designated for assignment to make room for Park on the roster, which now carries 12 pitchers.
Injury update: There have been reports that RHP Jason Schmidt could be back as early as May. He has been having bullpen rehab sessions and seems to be quickly gaining strength.
After yesterday’s day off, the Dodgers start a weekend series in San Diego tonight at 7:05. Hiroki Kuroda, the newest Japanese hurler in the MLB, will make his debut against Justin Germano. Kuroda showed some inconsistency and trouble adjusting to “America’s” strike zone in spring training, so it will be interesting (worrisome?) to see how he fares in his first regular season game.
