Bret Tomko Hit Hard in Dodgers Loss

by @ 5:02 pm. Filed under 2007 Season

Bret Tomko took it on the chin today in the Dodgers 7-5 loss to the Pirates.  He gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits and two walks with seven strikeouts in six innings of work.  The loss pushes him to 0-1 on the season.

Olmedo Saenz had a big game at the plate.  He went two for four with a homerun, a double and three runs.  Juan Pierre went two for five with a run.

So now it’s just time to start another winning streak.  As the Padres and the Diamondbacks beat up on each other, the Dodgers will be playing the now streaking and third place Giants.  We won’t have to face Matt Cain though and he’s been their best pitcher this year.  Derek Lowe will take on Matt Morris in the opener on Tuesday.
