Derek Lowe Hammered in Loss to Rockies

by @ 2:54 am. Filed under 2007 Season

Derek Lowe fell to 2-2 on the season with a pretty poor start against the Rockies.  He gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits and three walks with two strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings of work.  Chin-hiu Tsao made his appearance of the season and he threw a solid inning and a third while Rudy Seanez gave up two runs in his two relief innings.

The Dodgers didn’t get much offense in this one.  Derek Lowe drove in one of the runs himself with a sac. fly and Brady Clark singled home Andre Ethier for the only two runs. Juan Pierre and Clark were the only Dodgers with two hits.

The finale is this afternoon.  Chad Billingsley gets his first start of the season and hopefully he takes full advantage of his new spot in the rotation by winning the game.  The Dodgers hitters will face Aaron Cook, who’s actually put together a decent season for a Rockies pitcher.
