Blake DeWitt is up for the NL Rookie of the Month for May. He is nominated along with Reds’ first baseman Joey Votto, Cubs catcher Geovany Soto and Braves reliever Manny Acosta.

Fans have the opportunity to vote for the Rookie of the Month, with the winner being announced next Monday.

DeWitt had a May BA of .322, which is 40 points higher than the next highest’s nominee BA, Votto at .281. DeWitt also had 5 homeruns, 14 runs, and 18 RBI for the month.

DeWitt’s current overall BA is .293. He is only 1 for his last 9 but still is being talked as a top candidate for the NL Rookie of the Year.
