Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past
[powered by WordPress.]
The Dodgers suffered their first loss of the season on Wednesday night to the Giants.
Billingsley was set to start, yet the impending rainstorms prompted Torre to start Hong-Chih Kuo instead, who pitched three scoreless innings. Billingsley did see action, though, for just one-third of the fifth inning, giving up one run. After over an hour rain delay, starter Esteban Loaiza also came in to relieve and ended up taking the loss.
The Dodgers had just six hits on the night, with half of them coming from Blake DeWitt. The lone run was off of James Loney’s two-out RBI single. Runners LOB haunted the team again, with 21 for the night.
What should have beenĀ a sweep of the Giants turned into a rain-interrupted, last minute lineup changing, starters-called-on-to-relieve fiasco.
Billgsley will make an actual start on Monday’s game in Arizona. The Dodgers first head to San Diego for the weekend, where Hiroki Kuroda will make his debut on Friday night.
