With Brad Penny out for the remainder of the season, the Dodgers needed a fifth arm in the rotation…and so back to the Dodgers comes Greg Maddux. Maddux made a start last Friday, so he could be start for the Dodgers as early as Wednesday. The Dodgers didn’t need a fifth starter this week because of Monday’s day off, but they will probably start Maddux to keep him on regular days’ rest.

The Dodgers open a three-game series with the Rockies on Tuesday. Hiroki Kuroda will make the start on Tuesday, and looks to even his record at .500 with a win. He has a 1.21 ERA in his past three outings, including a two-hitter through seven in his last start. He will face Ubaldo Jimenez, who is 8-11 with a 3.94 ERA.
