Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers became the first big league team this season to earn their 60th win in a 12-3 victory over the Reds on Tuesday.
Randy Wolf picked up his first win at Dodger Stadium after an 0-2 start with eight no decisions. He gave up just four hits and two runs before leaving with one out in the eighth. Claudio Vargas came on for relief and finished the game but gave up a solo homerun in the ninth.
The Dodgers powered for 12 hits, highlighted by a five-run third inning in which they batted around the order. The Dodgers rallied for a quick two runs in the first before Matt Kemp made it 4-1 with a two-run shot in the second. The Dodgers then put the game out of reach with five runs in the third, with even Wolf helping himself out with an RBI-double. The third came with a scare for the Dodgers, though, when Reds’ starter Homer Bailey drilled Manny Ramirez with a pitch in the left hand. He left the game for X-rays but they came up negative. Rafael Furcal ended the night with a season-high four RBIs and three hits, and James Loney had three hits and two RBIs, courtesy of his two-run shot in the fifth.
The Dodgers look to make it three straight and get the sweep, with Chad Billingsley set to face Bronson Arroyo on Wednesday. Billingsley is still in search of his 10th win, winless since June 14th. Arroyo is 10-8 and has a current consecutive inning scoreless streak of 16.
