Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

A pass ball by Gary Bennett, who took over for Russell Martin, came to score in the top of the ninth to tie the game at 7-7 before Martin had a sacfly in the bottom of the 13th to score Matt Kemp.
Martin got on base six times in the game, with four walks and two hits, and of course, the game winning RBI. Martin replaced Nomar at third in the ninth when he strained his left calf muscle, which unfortunately means he will likely be headed back to the DL. This could mean recalling Blake DeWitt from Triple A Las Vegas, who was just sent down there a few days ago.
Other hot bats of the night: Matt Kemp went 2 for 4, Jeff Kent went 2 for 5 with a double and 2 runs scored, and Juan Pierre was 1 for 3 with 2 RBI.
Start Kuroda went six full innings, giving up five runs and nine hits. Cory Wade and Jonathan Broxton each pitched an inning for the hold. Saito pitched two innings, but got the blown save when a runner scored from a passed ball in the ninth. Chan Ho Park got his first win of the season, pitching the last three innings, holding the Rockies to only two hits.
