The Dodgers took a leg up in their three game series against the Padres with a 9-1 blowout win.  Luis Gonzalez hit his third homerun of the season and Rafael Furcal made his season debut with a solid game at the plate.  He went two for five with two RBIs and a run. 

Derek Lowe threw a nice game and he improved to 2-1.  He gave up just a single run on seven hits and two walks with six strikeouts in eight innings.  Rudy Seanez struck out two as he closed out the game with a shutout ninth.

Tonight will be the funnest pitching matchup to watch.  Jason Schmidt will go head to head with Jake Peavy.
