The Dodgers took a 1-5 loss on Saturday and 2-4 loss on Sunday for their second straight series loss.
Eric Milton suffered the loss on Saturday, giving up four runs on seven hits through five. McDonald and Mota tossed a few scoreless innings before Leach gave up a solo homerun in the ninth for the Mariners fifth run.
Felix Hernandez held the Dodgers to one run and four hits through his eight innings, while striking out nine. The Dodgers managed to score a run in the third, though it was off an error.
The offense didn’t fare much better on Sunday, with Garrett Olson holding the Dodgers to two runs. Matt Kemp drove a solo shot in the fifth and Andre Ethier drove in a run that same inning.
Hiroki Kuroda suffered the loss, giving up four runs on eight hits before leaving in the seventh inning.
The Dodgers have now lost two straight series, but it is the first time this season to have two consecutive series losses. The Dodgers will host the Rockies on Monday, with Randy Wolf facing Ubaldo Jimenez. This will be the Dodgers’ final home series before embarking on a 14-day road trip, followed by the All-Star break. It will also be their final series without Manny Ramirez, for he is eligible to return on Friday.
