Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Both teams were pretty quiet at the plate, but the Angels pulled off a 3-1 win in the first game of the Freeway Series.
In most other situations, Clayton Kershaw would’ve picked up the win for his one-run, four hit performance. He gave up a run in the fourth and was lifted after five with a 1-1 tie. Troncoso, Leach, and Belisario all worked before Cory Wade was roughed up for two in the eighth with a bases-loaded two-run single to Chone Figgins to take the loss.
The Dodgers went just 1 for 14 with RISP and left 11 men on base. The lone run came in the fourth to answer the Angels in the top half, courtesy of an RBI-single by James Loney. Loney, Matt Kemp, Rafael Furcal, and Juan Pierre all had two hits on the night.
Randy Wolf looks to even up the series tonight, facing John Lackey, who is making just his second start back after starting the season on the DL. The Dodgers also placed recent call-up Xavier Paul on the DL and called up Jamie Hoffman, who play back up outfielder to Juan Pierre, who has been replacing Manny Ramirez.
