Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers took a 3-1 loss in Monday’s game at Wrigley to the first place Cubs.
The Dodgers managed 10 hits for the game, but only drove in one run and ended up just 2 for 16 with RISP. The offense had their share of opportunities to take a lead, including having the bases loaded with one out in both the sixth and eighth innings. The lone run came in the fifth when Andre Ethier hit a leadoff double, moved to third on a single, and scored when Juan Pierre singled to second.
Chad Billingsley struck out seven and gave up just two runs but was tagged for the loss, his sixth of the season. He held the Cubs to four hits in his six innings, but one of the four was the difference in the game-a two run shot to Derrek Lee in the first. Chan Ho Park threw an inning and Scot Proctor pitched the eighth and gave up a solo shot to Aramis Ramirez.
The Dodgers will look to steal one back from the Cubs on Tuesday at 4:05. The Cubs send Sean Gallagher to the mound for just his fourth MLB start. He is 1-1 with a 5.68 ERA in his previous three. Hiroki Kuroda will take the mound for the Dodgers and go for his third win of the season. Kuroda’s battery mate will be Danny Ardoin for his MLB debut in place of Russell Martin who needs a rest day and the injured Gary Bennett.
