Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

After the Dodgers split a four-game series at Wrigley against the Cubs over the weekend, they came home to LA and took a close 2-3 loss to the Diamondbacks, but remain a MLB-best 35-18.
Hiroki Kuroda made his first start after spending two months on the DL–his first start since Opening Day. He took the loss but had a decent outing, allowing only three hits, two runs, while striking out six through five innings. Cory Wade tossed two shutout innings and Leach gave up a run in the eighth, which would prove to be the game-winner as the Dodgers would go on to score two in the ninth, one short of tying it to send the game to extras. The Dodgers’ staff also put up a club-record five wild pitches, including three by Cory Wade in the seventh inning alone.
Billy Buckner shut the Dodgers out for six innings, fanning five while allowing just four hits. The Dodgers made an attempt from a come-from-behind win in the ninth against Tony Pena: Rafael Furcal had an RBI-single to score Andre Ethier and an RBI-single by Juan Pierre, his last of three hits on the night. The Dodgers had runners on the corners with two outs, but Mark Loretta flied out to end the game.
Randy Wolf will get the start tonight and will team up with Brad Ausmus against Dan Haren.
