Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past
[powered by WordPress.]
Almost only counts in horseshoes and hand gernades and the Dodgers almost pulled this one out. They jumped out to an early lead, gave it up, came back, gave it up again and almost came back again. They’ll just have to get the job done tomorrow.
Derek Lowe didn’t have his best stuff and he gave up four runs on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 5 1/3 innings. Brad Penny actually took the loss because he gave up those final two runs that ended up making the difference.
Nomar Garciaparra drove in two runs and Wilson Betemit scored twice. The lineup did strikeout twelve times, three of which were done by Kenny Lofton.
Tomorrow, it’ll be Kuo versus Tom Glavine. Hong-Chih needs to get it done tomorrow if the Dodgers are going to have a chance to move on.
