Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Nationals were fighting the Marlins for last place in the NL East, and the Dodgers came into town and handed them a couple of games. I know any team can beat any other on any given day, but these untimely losses cost the Dodgers the division lead.
Friday’s game was the first of two 10-4 losses. Bret Tomko dropped to 5-2 on the season and he gave up six runs on nine hits in 4 2/3 innings. Jose Cruz, Jr. homered in the loss.
Saturday was the one day things went right. Derek Lowe picked up the win and held the Nationals to just a single run, and the bats got just enough done to pick up the 3-1 win. Nomar Garciaparra once again came through in a huge way and his single in the eighth broke a 1-1 tie.
On Sunday, Jae Seo got hammered. He couldn’t make it out of the third inning and he dropped to 2-3. Olmedo Saenz hit a homerun in the game and drove in two runs.
This is a little late, but the Dodgers are in the middle of a three game series with the Braves, and they took game one. As it stands, we’re a 1/2 game back of the D-Backs, so we need to keep on winning.
