Dodgers Face Elimination After Game Two Loss to Mets

by @ 2:08 am. Filed under 2006 NLDS

Talk about a must win situation.  The Dodgers back’s are against the wall now and they’ll need to win three straight games to move on to the NLDS.  The Dodgers never got their bats going in this one and it cost them dearly.

Hong Chih Kuo gave up only four hits in 4 1/3 innings but he walked two and gave up two runs.  Bret Tomko didn’t fare much better and after getting only two outs, he left the game with two runs to his credit.  Wilson Betemit hit a solo homerun late in the game, but the Dodgers never really could string together a big inning, regardless of who was throwing for the Mets.

Now, it’ll be up to Greg Maddux on Saturday to keep the Dodgers’ season going.  He’ll go head to head with Steve Trachsel.
