Kershaw struggled in his second shortest outing of the season, going just four-plus innings. He gave up three runs on four hits, but also couldn’t find the strike zone and walked six. Jeff Weaver then came in for three innings of relief and gave up a three-run homerun in the sixth inning to give the Brewers a 6-1 lead.

Manny Parra held the Dodgers to just two runs through the first eight frames. But Casey Blake led off the ninth with a single and a double by Matt Kemp chased Parra from the Hill. James Loney then drove in two with a ground-rule double off closer Trevor Hoffman. Orlando Hudson then knocked in Loney to cut the Brewers’ lead to one. Then with two outs and the bases loaded, Manny Ramirez stepped to the plate, but fell short as he flied out to right to end the game.

Hiroki Kuroda will make the start on Tuesday and will face Yovani Gallardo, who has been a solid man in the Brewers’ rotation, posting a 10-7 record with a 3.13 ERA.
