Dodgers Fall to Giants Despite Late-Inning Rally

by @ 10:13 am. Filed under 2009 Dodgers

The Dodgers dropped their second straight with a 4-5 loss to the Giants on Monday.

Randy Wolf gave up three runs in the first, but those followed an outfielder miscue by Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier that let Edgar Renteria get on base. Kemp then misplayed another fly ball and the Giants had a 3-0 lead by the end of the inning. Wolf left after six, but it was Ronald Belisario who took the loss after giving up two runs in the eighth.

Bary Zito kept the Dodgers scoreless until they chased him in the seventh during their four-run rally. Casey Blake drove a two-run homerun and Manny’s RBI-single put the Dodgers up 4-3.

Chad Billingsley will take the mound today, looking to notch another win on his 4-0 record. He will face Jonathan Sanchez, who is making his first start in 11 days, and is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA.
