Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past
[powered by WordPress.]
The Dodgers won the rubber game yesterday against the Padres on Jackie Robinson Day and they now stand in sole possession of second place, just a half game back of Arizona. They did it by hammering Padres number two starter Chris Young. Andre Ethier had a huge game. He went three for five with a homerun, four RBIs, and two runs. Russ Martin also had a good game and he went three for four with two RBIs and three runs in the 9-3 win.
Randy Wolf threw six solid innings and he picked up his second win of the season. He gave up three runs on six hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings of work. Takashi Saito closed things out with two strikeouts in the ninth.
Next up is a two game set against Diamondbacks. Brad Penny gets the start and lets hope he keeps up his hot April. If the Dodgers can take both, they’ll have first place and that should be more then enough motivation.
