Dodgers Held to Five Hits In Loss to Padres

by @ 5:25 pm. Filed under 1988 Dodger Diary - June, 1988 Dodgers

June 10, 1988 at Jack Murphy Stadium
Padres 4, Dodgers 3  (32-23)

The Dodgers managed just five hits and while they made it a close game in their opener with the Padres, it wasn’t enough.  No Dodger reached base more then once and Jeff Hamilton singled, scored and drove in a run.

Jay Howell gave up two runs in the bottom of the ninth and he took the loss.  It’s too bad because a solid start by Tim Leary went to waste.  He gave up two runs on four hits and one walk with four strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
