Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The NL West is still the closest division race in baseball. Three games seperate the Dodgers and the Padres and only one game seperates the Padres and Phillies for the Wild Card. There’s no time to let up now.
Friday’s game included a nice outing by Derek Lowe. It’s never easy pitching in Colorado and Lowe pitched five solid innings and picked up the win. Wilson Betemit hit a homerun and he drove in two runs and Rafael Furcal had two hits and two RBIs in the 6-3 win.
Saturday’s game was the first of two blowouts. Nomar Garciaparra hit a homerun and he drove in six runs. J.D. Drew also homered and he scored three times in the 14-5 win. Brad Penny picked up win numbr 15 despite a mediocre outing, but always, we’ll take it.
Sunday was another blowout, unfortunately, it was the Dodgers who were on the receiving end. Aaron Sele was roughed up and three different relievers all gave up runs as well. Marlon Anderson homered and both he and Toby Hall both drove in two runs in the 12-5 loss.
Next up is three against the Brewers, who are pretty much out of it. They’ll be playing some young kids with something to prove though, so it’s imperative the Dodgers win at least two of three.
