May 11, 1988 at Three Rivers Stadium
Pirates 2, Dodgers 1  (19-10)

For the second straight day, the Dodgers went into extra frames against an opponent but this time they were on the losing end of things.  Alejandro Pena gave up a run on one hit and two walks in the bottom of the eleventh inning and he lost his first of the season.  Fernando Valenzuela had a solid start go to waste.  He gave up one run on seven hits and five walks with eight strikeouts in seven innings of work.

Mike Davis had a team high three hits while Mike Scioscia doubled, singled and scored the lone Dodger run.  Valenzuela helped out his own cause and he drove in the only run the Dodgers scored.
