Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers and Phillies had their Sunday night matchup on ESPN, but the Dodgers faltered in a 2-7 loss to end up splitting the series.
Randy Wolf struggled in the loss, allowing six runs on eight hits before being lifted in the seventh. He gave up just one run through the first four frames, but then gave up two go-ahead runs in the fifth before giving up two homeruns in the seventh. Wolf took just his second loss of the season, his first in 11 consecutive starts. Travis Schilchting then came on for the eighth, giving up a solo homerun as he faced his first batter ever in the big leagues.
The Dodgers couldn’t produce much offense against Antonio Bastardo, the rookie making just his second start in the big leagues. Matt Kemp drove in a run in the fourth to tie it up, but the Dodgers left runners on the corners after having one out that same inning. Kemp also drove in a run in the sixth when a run scored on his double-play groundout.
The Dodgers have Monday off, their first off day since May 21. They will have a chance to rest up before opening a home series against the Padres. Chad Billingsley will get the nod for Tuesday and will face Chris Young.
