Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

After taking the first game of the series against the White Sox, the Dodgers lost the second and lost the series in extra innings in Thursday’s 5-6 loss.
The Dodgers gave Chad Billingsley a 4-0 lead by the fifth, but Billingsley gave up two in the fifth and three go-ahead runs in the sixth, courtesy of a three-run shot by A.J. Pierzynski. The Dodgers tied it back up in the seventh and Billingsley left with the no decision. Belisario and Leach relieved before Troncoso had a perfect two innings. Jeff Weaver took the loss, though, when loading the bases with no outs in the 13th inning and giving up a hit to Scott Podsednik.
The Dodgers jumped out for three runs in the fourth and added another in the fifth. The Sox came back to take the lead but a run in the seventh tied it up to send the game to extras. The Dodgers were then held hitless over the next six innings. Orlando Hudson went 3 for 6 with 2 RBI and Loretta also had a pair of hits and 2 RBI.
This was the first series loss for the Dodgers in over a month. They now head back to LA to take on the Mariners in the three-game weekend series. Clayton Kershaw will face Jason Vargas, who is 3-2 with a 3.24 ERA.
