Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

This one kind of hurt. Just when the Dodgers were rolling, they catch a red hot Giants team and drop all three games. Like the other two games in the series, the Dodgers offense was held in check and put up only four runs and their pitching was just bad enough to lose it.
Brad Penny had a pretty mediocre starting meaning it was probably his worst start of the season. He gave up three runs on seven hits and a walk with two strikeouts in six innings. Joe Beimel was also hit hard and he gave up two runs in 1 2/3 innings. In fact it was Beimel who took the loss.
At the plate, Andre Ethier hit his third homerun of the season and he finished with two RBIs. Rafael Furcal went two for five and he drove in one in the 5-4 loss.
So the Dodgers are now tied with the Giants at the top with the Padres on game back. The Dodgers can take care of the Padres this weekend because they travel to San Diego for three against the Padres this weekend. Hopefully the Dodgers win at least two of three and then the Diamondbacks take care of the Giants.
