Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers were swept on the final game of the series with the Dbacks, losing 3-4.
Hiroki Kuroda takes his first MLB loss. He went 5 2/3 inning, giving up four runs (two earned) on nine hits. Kuroda and the Dodgers had a 3-2 lead going into the bottom of the sixth thanks to a James Loney homer. But Kuroda was pulled that same inning after giving up a two-run, go-ahead single to Eric Byrnes. Chan Ho Park and Jonathan Broxton relieved the rest of the game, each giving up one hit.
Loney homered in effort to make up for his throwing error in the fourth which then allowed two runs to score. Andre Ethier had a sacfly in the fifth to tie it up before Loney gave the Dodgers a short lead in the sixth. Juan Pierre started in left, with Matt Kemp in center, in place of slumping Andruw Jones, and went 2 for 3 with an RBI-double. Jones did enter the game in the sixth though and had one hit, but then struckout to end the game.
Thursday’s day off should help the team to forget this sweep and to rest and focus on the future, which includes a home series against the Padres this weekend.
