Dodgers Minor League Organizational Review

by @ 6:38 pm. Filed under 2008 Dodgers

In a very cool series at MiLB.com, Lisa Winston took an after the fact look at the Dodgers minor league system.  They named Delwyn Young as the best position player but they didn’t anticipate the emergence of Clayton Kershaw as a bonafide stuff.  Kershaw got it done both with the Loons and with Double-A Jacksonville and while he’ll probably start back at Jacksonville, you might see him in a Dodger uniform as early as next year.

It’s also interesting looking at the guys who “kept their footing.”  Andy LaRoche, Blake DeWitt and Preston Mattingly all fell into that category and all three have to make some strides in 2008 to re-establish their prospect credentials.  There’s also a cool recap of the Dodgers 2007 draft, and it’s another pitcher in Christopher Withrow who the Dodgers are banking on having future success.
