Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Bad timing. The Padres have caught fire and the Dodgers have begun to struggle again. There’s no way the Dodgers can go into one of those extended skids like they’ve done before. At least not if they want to make the playoffs.
Greg Maddux lost his first game since donning the Dodger Blue on Monday. He gave up six runs on ten hits and three walks in 5 1/3 innings. J.D. Drew drove in two runs and Kenny Lofton had two hits and two runs in the 6-3 loss.
Tuesday’s game was pretty ugly. The Dodgers were held to four hits and they made three errors in an 8-0 blowout. Mark Hendrickson lasted only four innings and he dropped to 1-7. Rafael Furcal picked up two hits.
Derek Lowe really picked up the Dodgers yesterday. He gave up one run (unearned) on only three hits in eight innings of work to end the losing streak. The game winner came on Matt Kemp’s RBI single in the seventh inning.
Next up is four against the Mets. The Padres are red hot so the Dodgers are going to have to take some games against the best team in the National League.
