Dodgers Offense Held in Check in Loss to Giants

by @ 3:18 am. Filed under 2007 Season

This was just one of those games.  The pitching was only okay and the hitting was just okay and the Giants just happened to be a bit better.  Nomar Garciaparra had two hits and an RBI while Russ Martin went two for four with a run in the 5-3 loss.

Derek Lowe took the loss.  He gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits and three walks with four strikouts in seven innings.  Joe Beimel was also touched up for a run and Chin-hui Tsao pitched 1 1/3 innings of shutout ball to close out the game.

So the Dodgers now sit just a game ahead of the Padres and the Giants are right behind them at two games back.  Randy Wolf will try to get it done for the Dodgers tonight and the Dodgers will hopefully rough up Noah Lowry.
