Dodgers-Rockies Preview

by @ 9:56 am. Filed under 2008 Dodgers

The Dodgers will go for seven straight wins tonight against the Rockies at 6:05.

Brad Penny will face LHP Jeff Francis. Penny will go for his fifth win; he is 13-2 lifetime against the Rockies. Penny’s last outing was a win against the Rockies, going a season-high seven innings while giving up three runs. Francis is winless this season, and after losing his first two starts, has improved to a 2.57 ERA in his last 21 innings.

The top story of the Rockies has been the recent loss of shortstop Troy Tulowitzki, who is a key component to their lineup. This will be the Rockies first game missing Tulowitzki with the knowledge that he’ll be out until at least the All-Star break.

Jonathan Broxton could be available to pitch tonight. He has been out all week due to a strained muscle, but could be up to pitch tonight if a bullpen session goes well.
