Dodgers Shut Out by Rangers

by @ 8:50 am. Filed under 2009 Dodgers

In the first game of a three-game interleague series, the Dodgers fell to the Rangers 0-6.

Hiroki Kuroda took the loss in just his third start since coming off the DL. He fared well through the first five innings, giving up just a pair of runs in the third. He then lost his rhythm in the sixth, giving up a leadoff solo homerun and then two more runs before leaving with one out.

Vicente Padilla shut out the Dodgers for his five innings, allowing just four hits. The Dodgers managed just eight runs at the plate. The only chance at a comeback was in the fifth, down by two runs, with runners on second and third with one out. Andre Ethier drilled a liner but first baseman Chris Davis made the catch to end the rally threat.

Randy Wolf will make the start tonight, facing Scott Feldman, who has only one loss in nine starts this season.
