Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Man, things can change in a hurry. The Dodgers were on top of the world after that come back win on Monday and now just four days later, they find themselves playing for their playoff life. The Padres took back the NL West lead, al beit by a half game, and the Philadelphia Phillies have been playing well and they’re just a half game back for the Wild Card. So you have three teams fighting for two playoff spots.
Hong-Chih Kuo struck out eight in only 5 1/3 innings but he also gave up five runs as he dropped to 1-5 on Tuesday. Bret Tomko was also knocked around for four runs in the blowout loss to the Pirates. Rafael Furcal and Marlon Anderson both homered and Anderson drove in three runs.
Wednesday was more of the same just a bit closer. Greg Maddux and Aaron Sele each gave up three runs and J.D. Drew hit homerun number 18 in the 6-4 loss.
Finally the Dodgers picked up a game yesterday. Chad Billingsley pitched five solid innings and he improved to 6-4. Olmedo Saenz drove in two runs in the 5-2 win.
Next up is a weekend series against the Diamondbacks. It’s time to win folks.
