Dodgers Swept by Mets

Mets 5, Dodgers 2  (22-17)

For the first time this season, the Dodgers were handed a three game sweep as the Mets won their third straight game. The score looks a lot closer then this game was because while the Mets scored just five runs, they came in the first two innings.  Fernando Valenzuela was shelled and he fell to 3-5.  He gave up five runs on six hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings.

John Shelby was the hitting star in the loss.  He went three for five with a double and a run.  Dave Anderson also reached base three times with two singles and a walk.
