Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

After a loss on Friday, the Dodgers followed up with a 3-1 win on Saturday and a win in Sunday’s rubber match.
Randy Wolf tossed a shutout five innings, giving up just two hits while striking out four. He had to be lifted after the almost two-hour rain delay, and again didn’t factor into the decision. Cory Wade ended up taking the win, though he did give up a homerun in the sixth for the Rangers only run on the night. Broxton also picked up his 15th save.
The Dodgers didn’t knock in a run until the sixth, but it was Matt Kemp’s two-run, go-ahead blast in the seventh that was the difference in the game.
The offense heated up even more on Sunday, beginning in the first with a sac fly by Casey Blake. The Rangers took the lead in the bottom half but Blake again delivered with a three-run shot in the third, hitting in the cleanup spot. James Loney and Brad Ausmus added RBI-singles for a pair of insurance runs in the seventh.
Chad Billingsley picked up his ninth win, holding the Rangers to three runs–two earned–through seven innings. Troncoso tossed an inning before Billingsley got the save.
The Dodgers have Monday off before heading to Oakland on Tuesday to take on the A’s. Clayton Kershaw will take on lefty Dallas Braden, who is 5-5 with a 3.33 ERA and has never faced the Dodgers.
