Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodger offense couldn’t heat up against Kevin Correia as the Dodgers take a 1-3 loss to the Padres on Wednesday.
Clayton Kershaw took the loss, giving up three runs on five hits before leaving in just the third inning. The Dodger bullpen then combined to shut the Padres out the rest of the night, with Weaver pitching 2 1/3 innings with one hit, Cory Wade pitching two perfect innings, and Belisario and Troncoso a hitless inning apiece.
The only offense to speak of was an Andre Ethier RBI-single in the first to score Juan Pierre and make it 2-1. Correia and the Padres bullpen shut out the Dodgers after the first, with the Dodgers managing just six hits on the night.
The Dodgers have another off day before heading to Texas for a three-game interleague series with the Rangers, who are–at a suprise to the baseball world–at first in their division, 3 1/2 games above the Angels. Hiroki Kuroda will make the start on Friday, looking to set his record at 2-1 in his first career start against the Rangers. He will face Vicente Padilla, who is 4-3 with a 5.22 ERA.
