The Dodgers, with the 15th pick overall, selected Ethan Martin in the first round of the 2008 First-Year Player Draft.

Martin, 6’2 and 195 lbs., is a righty out of Stephens County HS in Georgia. Last week, he was named the Georgia State High School Player of the Year by Gatorade. He ended his senior year with a 11-1 record, a 0.99 ERA, and 141 K’s in 79 innings.

The Dodgers have selected pitchers in five of the last six drafts, with Clayton Kershaw being the most recent brought up to join the rotation. The Dodgers next pick opportunity will be in the second round, 61st overall.
