Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

All three games of the series were won by one run, and the Dodgers came out on top with a 3-2 win over the A’s on Thursday for the win.
Randy Wolf had another solid outing in which he did not earn the decision, his 10th no decision in 15 starts this year. He went six strong, giving up just one run on five hits while striking out three. Cory Wade yielded the tying run in the seventh but after the Dodgers came back in the bottom half Leach, Belisario, and Troncoso came out of the bullpen with Leach taking the win and Troncoso earning his fourth save with only two pitches in the ninth.
The Dodger offense answered back to each of the A’s runs with a run of their own in the bottom halves of the innings. After the A’s scored one in the third, Orlando Hudson answered back with a two-out solo homerun. The Dodgers took the lead on an RBI-single by Juan Pierre in the fifth. The A’s came back in the seventh, but Mark Loretta drove in the winning run with an RBI-single in the seventh to snap an 0 for 15 slump as a pinch hitter.
The Dodgers continue with interleague play, heading across town in the Freeway Series with the Angels. Chad Billingsley will get the start on Friday and will face lefty Joe Saunders. Billingsley is looking to send his win total to double-digits while Saunders is 7-4 but winless in his last three starts.
