Dodgers Visit Interleague Rival Angels

by @ 9:00 am. Filed under 2008 Dodgers

The Dodgers will open their Interleague Play series by traveling down the road to Angel Stadium to face the first place Angels in the Freeway Series.

The Angels have dominated the Dodgers in Interleague Play, with a 35-27 record overall and a 5-1 record in 2007. In their last nine games playing the Angels in Anaheim, they’ve won just one game.

But this is a new Dodgers team, a team who stands just four games out of first place. The Dodgers have a two-game win streak while the Angels have dropped their last two. Hiroki Kuroda will make his ninth start of the season, his first against the Angels. Kuroda has yet to earn a win in over a month, but is coming off his best outing this year-a 6 2/3 one-hit effort against the Astros.

The Angels will start LHP Joe Saunders, who stands at 6-1. Saunders had his perfect 6-0 record snapped in his last outing, though he yielded just one run through six innings.
