Dodgers Win Back-and-Forth Game with Dbacks

by @ 5:37 pm. Filed under 2009 Dodgers

A six-run sixth inning put the Dodgers back in the game as they scored one in the ninth to pull off a 10-9 win over the Dbacks.

James McDonald went 4 1/3, giving up three runs on six hits. He was pulled in the fifth in the middle of the Dbacks five-run rally. Sturtze and newly-signed Ohman finished the inning, but not before three more runs to the Dbacks. Cory Wade then pitched a hitless inning, and Alvarado then gave up two more runs. Threets and DeBarr finished the game, with DeBarr getting the blown save but also the win with the help of the Dodgers’ run in the ninth.

Andre Ethier and Blake DeWitt led the offense, with Ethier going 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and DeWitt 3 for 5 with 2 RBI and 2 runs, including a homerun. Casey Blake and James Loney also homered. The Dodgers got lucky with an unearned run in the ninth to break the tie and take the win.

The Dodgers will face the Giants in Scottsdale on Wednesday, with Hiroki Kuroda making his final start of spring before taking the mound on Opening Day.
