Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers completed their sweep of the Rockies in the bottom of the tenth inning off James Loney’s walkoff RBI single. Loney had bases loaded and grounded a single between first and second to score Rafael Furcal to win 3-2.
The Dodgers scored first with 2 runs in the fourth from RBI singles. Esteban Loaiza had the first, scoring Blake DeWitt, who had tripled. Furcal also had an RBI single to score the second run, and ended up 2 for 4 on the night. Jeff Kent had the day off to rest, which gave Chin-lung Hu the start, who went 1 for 3 with a run scored. The offense was then mostly quieted until the 10th when they rallied off Manny Corpas to give him the loss and the Dodgers a win.
Loaiza had a 2-0 lead going into the fifth, but allowed Jeff Baker and Willy Taveras to score off an RBI double and RBI single. Loaiza was pulled after the fifth, giving up those two runs with five hits, but not so bad, considering it is his first start since April 7th after being shuffled between the bullpen and fifth starter role. Rookie Cory Wade then came in to pitch two innings, retiring six of the seven batters he faced. Jonathan Broxton and Saito eached pitched an inning. Joe Beimel pitched out of a jam, with runners on second and third with one out in the tenth, to earn the win.
This gives the Dodgers their first series sweep of the season as well as their first 3-game win streak.
