Dodgers Win in Extras

by @ 1:27 pm. Filed under 2009 Dodgers

The Dodgers are now 6-1 in extra-inning games as they beat the A’s 5-4 in 10 innings on Tuesday.

Clayton Kershaw pitched a phenomenal 5 2/3 innings, shutting out the A’s notching eight K’s. Ramon Troncoso was tagged for all four A’s runs, coming in the eighth inning. Mota picked up his third win, pitching a perfect 10th inning.

The Dodgers were quiet at the plate until the sixth inning when Casey Blake and James Loney both drove RBI-doubles. The A’s took a two-run lead in the eighth but the Dodgers answered back in the bottom half to tie it up, with another RBI-hit by Blake and a fielder’s choice RBI for Andre Ethier. Matt Kemp was the hero in the 10th, driving in the winning run with two outs.

Hiroki Kuroda will take the hill tonight and will face Trevor Cahill. Kuroda is making his first career outing against the A’s and the young Cahill is 3-5 with a 4.17 ERA.
