Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers got it done yet again and while they needed ten innings, a win is a win. Wilson Valdez scored on a passed ball in the ninth to knot the game up at 3-3 and then Russ Martin hit a walk off grand slam in the bottom of the tenth to win it.
Brad Penny may have had his worst start of the season, but the bar was set pretty high with his fantastic start. He gave up three runs on six hits and four walks with three strikeouts in six innings of work. Jon Broxton threw a shutout tenth and he picked up his first win of the season.
Jeff Kent continued to hit well and he went three for five with a run and an RBI. Luis Gonzalez singled, drew two walks and he scored twice in the 7-3 win.
Bret Tomko throws this afternoon as the Dodgers go for the sweep. Regardless, the Dodgers will finish the week in first place and that’s definitely a good thing.
