The Dodgers took a 0-3 loss to the Astros in their first game of the second half, but Manny Ramirez got to make his home debut after his 50-day suspension.
Randy Wolf had a near quality start in the loss, giving up three runs on five hits through 6 1/3 while striking out six. He didn’t surrender a run until a solo homerun in the fifth and he was taken out with one out in the six and the bases loaded. Mota allowed two runs to score, both tagged to Wolf.
Wandy Rodriquez held the Dodgers scoreless, with their only real chance at scoring runs was in the fifth with one out and the bases loaded, but Wandy got Andre Ethier to ground into an inning-ending double play. The Dodgers out-hit the Astros, though, with eight hits, three by Orlando Hudson.
The Dodgers send Chad Billingsley to the mound on Friday to face Roy Oswalt, who is 5-4 with a 3.84 ERA. Billingsley is still in search of his 10th win.
