Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers are in the bid to host the 2013 All-Star Game. On Wednesday, Bud Selig announced that the Angels would host the 2010 ASG at Angel Stadium, so the Dodgers hope to make the game return to the LA area again in 2013. The Dodgers haven’t hosted the ASG since 1980. The Dodger competition to host is fierce, though, as many other National League teams are vying for the bid. 2009′s ASG will be at Busch Stadium in St. Louis and 2011′s and 2012′s have yet to be determined.
Before the 2013 ASG, though, the Dodgers are also in line to host the 2009 World Baseball Classic. The Dodgers hope that this bid would propel them to win the bid for the 2013 All-Star Game, as 2012 will mark the year of renovations for the 50th anniversary of Dodger Stadium. An official annoucement should be made next month as to what stadium will host next year’s WBC.
