Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Clayton Kershaw pushed his no-hitter past seven innings as the Dodgers beat the Marlins 12-5 to win the series.
Kershaw allowed no hits through seven, though his no-hitter was broken up when former Dodger Cody Ross drove a leadoff double in the eighth inning. He did allow four walks but also struck out nine and was taken out in the eighth, earning his second win of the season. Mota struggled in the ninth, allowing a grand slam to Ross.
The Dodger offense backed Kershaw’s no hitter by giving him a 6-0 lead by the third. Juan Pierre, Mark Loretta, and Juan Castro led the offense: Pierre went 3 for 5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs to keep his average at a cool .419, Loretta had the exact same numbers, and Castro went 2 for 4 with four runs scored, including a solo shot in the second.
The Dodgers hold their major-league best record and head home to LA to open a series with the Mets on Monday. Randy Wolf will take on Tim Redding, who is making his first start this season after being sidelined for a strained rotator cuff on his right pitching arm.
