Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

Derek Lowe completely dominated the Nationals in Saturday nights game, allowing just one-hit in his eight innings as the Dodgers put up ten hits of their own and beat the Nats 6-0.
The Dodgers scored three in the first and that was all they need for the win as Lowe kept the Nats scoreless, but they added three more runs in the fourth to end up with a 6-0 win. Against former Dodger Odalis Perez, Matt Kemp drove a two-run homer in the first for the early lead, which sends his hit streak to a career-high 13 games. Russell Martin doubled and then scored on a sacfly by Nomar, who made the start at first base, with Angel Berroa at short. In the fourth, Nomar drove a solo homerun before Casey Blake, making his Dodger blue debut, doubled. He was then driven home by Berroa’s double. Lowe even chipped in on the action with an RBI-single to score Berroa.
Lowe actually was 2 for 3 on the night, which is one more hit than he allowed the Nats to get in his eight innings of work. Lowe’s last one-hitter was with the Dodgers in 2005 and his only career no-hitter was in 2002 with Boston. Lowe went one inning short of a complete game after throwin 107 pitches, Joe Beimel and Cory Wade split the ninth.
