Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers snapped their five-game win streak as the Marlins rallied in late innings to beat the Dodgers 6-3 on Friday.
Clayton Kershaw held the Marlins scoreless until the fifth when he allowed a run to tie the game at 1-1. Kershaw then had two outs in the sixth but allowed two consecutive singles followed by a wild pitch which allowed the go-ahead run to cross the plate. He gave up one more run before the inning was over, and left with six in the books, two earned runs on nine hits with six K’s. James McDonald was tagged for the loss when he allowed a run to score in the seventh. Ramon Troncoso came on for the eighth and gave up a leadoff solo homerun and another run before Claudio Vargas relieved him.
The Dodgers only scored one off Josh Johnson in his first five innings. Andre Ethier tied it up in the sixth with a two-RBI double, one of his three hits on the night, accounting for half of the Dodgers’ total hits.
Hiroki Kuroda takes the mound and looks to even up the series. He will face Rick VandenHurk, who was just called up from Triple-A and posted a win in his first big league start of 2009.
