Milton Pitches Dodgers to Win

by @ 7:08 am. Filed under 2009 Dodgers

Eric Milton picked up his first win since August 2006, holding the Rockies to one run on seven hits through five. Wade, Troncoso, and Leach all combined for four shutout innings to hold the Rockies at one run.

The Dodgers again got on board first with a run in the first inning. Casey Blake, batting cleanup, then drove a bases-clearing double in the fifth to make it 4-0. Juan Pierre tripled and scored in the seventh with Orlando Hudson ripped an RBI-single to extend his hit streak to a career-high 16 games. The Dodgers added two more in the eighth and ended up with 12 hits on the night.

The Dodgers are in good shape to make this a sweep of the Rockies, with Clayton Kershaw taking on Ubaldo Jimenez.
