Following the Dodgers and Exploring The Team’s Past

The Dodgers were swept in Philly and looked to winning ways heading into their series with the Nationals, but the bats were still quiet as the Dodgers lost 1-2 in the opener.
It took five Nationals pitchers to hold the Dodgers to one run and seven hits. The team went 1 for 12 with RISP, the only runner cashing in was Nomar in the fifth off Matt Kemp’s bat. The boys grounded into three double plays, and had bases loaded with NO outs in the sixth but failed to touch home at all.
Derek Lowe pitched a complete game, but is famous for receiving no run support…so that comes with a loss. He gave up a solo homerun in the second and another run in the third before holding the Nats scoreless for the rest of the game, hoping his offense would back him up.
The Dodgers look to snap their now five-game losing streak tonight, sending Greg Maddux to the mound for his second shot at his first win for the Dodgers in ‘08. He will face Tim Redding, who is 8-8 but winless since August 4th.
